Wampires turns one ship, three lives and a screen full of enemies into a chase for your next personal best. Start against a moving formation, then face single dives, snake columns, diagonal pairs, loops, split squadrons and figure-eight paths. Later levels mix eight flight patterns and eight formations with faster hunters, telegraphed sniper fire, armoured ships and squad leaders. Defeat a leader to split its squad. Coordinated attacks and gradually rising pressure keep later waves challenging, with short breathing spaces during combat. After each boss, a lighter wave lets you regroup before the pressure builds again. The last few enemy ships regroup instead of starting another long attack route. A short victory chime and a one-second breather reward each cleared level. Build powerful combos and face a mothership every fifth wave. There is no final level, score ceiling or run timer. Your run ends when your last life is lost. Start with three lives. Earn up to two extra lives at 50,000 and 150,000 points, with a maximum of three lives on screen. An earned extra life waits until a life slot is free. Chain kills for a multiplier up to ×5 and earn bonus points for skilled play. Double Fire stacks through ×2, ×4 and ×8 for 15 seconds. Reaching ×16 grants 10 seconds; another pickup adds at most two seconds, up to 10. Glowing power-ups alternate between twin green lasers and a blue shield. They drop every 20 kills in the opening levels, gradually becoming rarer at 24, 28 and then 32 kills. Learn six different boss attack patterns, introduced over the first 30 levels and shuffled afterwards. From Level 10, bosses switch attack patterns at half health with a short warning before firing again. Bosses grow tougher gradually, with comparable movement speeds and clear openings to attack. Boss armour limits concentrated laser damage; Double Fire still gives you more coverage and stronger volleys.
Use the arrow keys or WASD to move, hold Space to fire, press X for a charged pulse and P to pause. On a touchscreen, drag inside the playfield to move and fire. Tap the PULSE button below the playfield on a touchscreen to clear enemy fire when charged. PULSE starts at 25%, gains 2% for each enemy defeated by your lasers and 15% for a defeated boss. A full refill takes 50 laser eliminations. Charge stays with you across levels and lost lives; close dodges earn points without charging PULSE. It shows TAP TO BLAST when ready and its charge percentage while refilling. Original chip-style laser, explosion and pickup sounds start with the game and can be muted.
Finish a run and compete on the worldwide Top 10. Every run that qualifies for the Top 10 opens the nickname form automatically; submitting is optional. The same nickname can hold multiple places with different runs. Each new score records the level reached; older entries show a dash where that level was not recorded. Online play checks the score connection before a run starts and reconnects automatically if needed. You can also choose to play without an online score. Once you press SUBMIT SCORE, failed sends keep your score and nickname in this browser and retry automatically while the page is open, including after reopening it. The original online session must still be accepted by the score service. You can also share your score and challenge a friend to beat it. Sharing is optional and starts only when you press the challenge button. The results screen shows your next boss target. Every new run is a fresh chance to beat your best.
